I'm a little concerned with all these posts. I had mine placed recently and while it hurt like a b****r when it was put in, since then it's been fine. I feel like most stuff posted here is all information that was given to me beforehand. Increased risk of infection is one of the first side effects listed on many sites about Mirena. I was trying to find people with good stories about this form of birth control but I'm not having much luck. There was a post about someone who was told by the ER that your body will put it in place? Not true! You need to go back to the doctor who inserted it and have them either remove it and/or replace it. Your body will not put it back and it is not effective if it is not in place. If anyone here has a success story, I would like to hear it because I'm getting a little nervous! Ack!
