I'm generally never late with my periods, but I've estimated this one at about 6 - 7 weeks late, which is beginning to concern me. I have some daily nausea, bloating, clear vaginal discharge, some unusual shortness of breath and a bit of a cough, a few headaches a week, getting tired very early... but here's the kicker, to dispell probably your first thought... I'm a virgin. There's no way I could be pregnant (my boyfriend and I have joked about immaculate conception. lol). Despite this, I took a pregnancy test just to make absolutely sure, and it came back negative, as expected. I've also never been on the pill, which I understand can cause some of these symptoms.
Either way, I have yet to find a straight answer as to why this is happening. If I'd have cramping or spotting or anything at all I'd go to the doctor immediately, but I have yet to experience this, and so I'd like to seek your advice and ideas on why I have not yet gotten my period. Thank you!

Hi without a name,

That is AWESOME that you are a virgin, what a blessing that will be when you marry !!!!

Ok, I want to tell you, I had some of the same symptoms and consulted my doctor, and come to find out, I had a "wacky" thyroid. The shortness of breath, missed periods, tiredness, nausea etc.. Have you had any sleeping issues even being tired? It is not a MAJOR issue, but there are some things they can do. Sometimes people(s) bodies go through what is considered a "thyroid storm". You might want to check with him. The thyroid being "off kilter" so to speak, can really throw off your body. Have him check your thyroid levels/function.

Also, if you are really stressed, it can take a bit of a toll.

You mentioned not being on birth control. That rules out that question.

Many blessings to you guys. Let me know what you find out.

I'm 15, and I've never had a boyfriend, so I'm a virgin. There's no way on earth I'm pregnant because of those facts. But I haven't had a period in 51 days. Also, I'm super tired, I have to use the restroom more often, I'm irritable, and my whole body is swelling. I've never missed a period before, and I've been having them for 4 years. I'm really starting to get worried as I'm nearing the second period to be missed. Please give me an explanation!

White discharge is healthy and normal. I've found this after years of worrying and drinking cranberry juice, I was quite embarrassed at myself.

Missing a period or two is also normal when your young and have hormones bouncing up and down

A month though is indeed a bit worrisome. I myself have missed months before and have had regular periods come out of nowhere and start a new scheduled cycle. If this happens too often though I suggest consulting a doctor just to be on the safe side.

Cramps but no period? I'm not sure that's actually how I found myself here. From reading several articles all I can come up with is stress and maybe seeing a doctor. ( which I can't immediately without due cause, because I'm a broke college student) so I'm hoping there's a better answer somewhere.

I've tried to figure something out myself. I have missed a period[started at age 13 and am now 18]. I am going on to miss my second one tomorrow night. I did read though on Mdmed that if you skip a 2nd one, GO TO DR. So if you don't start, go to a doctor. Cause it can be nothing, something small or w/e. I've heard they use north control to kick your period back into regulation. Though if they try that with me I won't seeing as there is no reason. Birth control makes your body think you are pregnant until it realizes you aren't. That is why when you do have a period it is horrid and you gain weight during it all. Simply go for a checkup. They might have to do a procedure you don't want[cause it might take your virginity], but do what is best... Trust me, better to be healthy and know it than not. I don't want to but I know I'll need it. Good luck to you too!!

love don't worry, that means you are getting your period soon. I suggest getting your pads ready, like keep them in your bag for school. Tell your guardian so they can help you. Don't freak out when you find blood on you panties, it's just your period. Good luck :)

Hello, you wrote this a year ago but to you and any other girl who is concern you might want to consult a doctor just in case. However I've had this happen to me and found it was because I was not drinking enough water and eating correctly so this could be what's is happening to you. All I had to do and reverse the eating and drinking habitats. Also I do not know how young you are but because a lot of teenagers are under high levels of stress at school and at home, the stress can very well be a reason you are skipping your period.
Hope this helps and remember there is no harm in checking with a doctor also i'am no medical professional I speak out of personal experience I would talk to a doctor.

I'm 16 yearsold and I first got my period when I was like 12 and I'm gonna be 17 in like 16 hours lol. I missed three periods I am a virgin! And I've been having pains in the right side of my stomach but not cramps I dont know how to describe these pains it's just feels like when you press on a bruise and I have no bruises on my stomach I dont know if this has anything to do with my period though I've had these pains for 2 years and never thought much of them and never told the doctor about it. When I missed my period for a month last year I went to the doctor but they said it was normal and did a pregnancy test and obviously it was negative. I havent been sleeping right and I've been getting really weird headaches which are also undescribable. What should I do?
