My name is Winifred, my husband has been taking Dilaudid for approx 3 years. He has kidney stones and usually in alot of pain. I was releasing some frustrations with a female and the first thing she asked, is he on drugs? I told her no, but he takes dilaudid for pain (alternates percocets) she explained to me that she also took dilaudid previously after knee surgery and if she missed a dose or didn't have it she would get very irritable and moody. That's when the light came on, I was wondering what happened after the first year, why was my husband emotions were up and down. One day everythings great and next day chaos she explained it to me. Does anyone have similar story please help.

Yes I have a similar story. First off I took dilaudid for three days after having a double mastectomy. It made me angry, emotional and dilusional. Recently my younger sister was having a cyst removed and don't ask me why her doctor prescribed her dilaudid for almost a month but she got hooked. Her rage and emotions were out of control every time it would start to wear off. We could see it but because the doc said it was ok we could not do anything about it. She would lose control then lie and manipulate the truth so that she could make excuses for herself. A drug addict is a drug addict no matter how they get their drugs. The doctors just create these monsters and make it impossible for family to intervene. Shame on them! I haven't spoken to my sister in months and neither has my entire family. We are not dealing with a person, we are dealing with a drug and we don't need the BS and excuses for her behavior. Good luck, Karen
