Hi, I have a problem and I need to consult with someone. I am a runner. While preparing for the spring season I have went on skiing on mountain. It was yesterday. During the skiing I had a nasty fall. At first it looked that everything is fine. I had stopped skiing and return home. Then I have noticed that my calf muscles got swollen. Today it hurts a lot its swollen and I can’t stand on my leg. What to expect?

Well, you have made the problem to yourself. Your muscles could be torn or fractured. This means that you have to stay still in bed for at least 3 to 4 weeks. Even after that you will have to be careful while stepping on it for some time and running is out of question for some period. You could go swimming to keep the shape or to exercise your upper muscles in the gym. Of course first you must visit doctor to see what is damaged. Perhaps you need a surgery.
