My question if it hasn't spread is there a cure for this, and what is the likely outcome if it has spread

If the cancer originates in the spleen and it has not spread elsewhere, then removal of the spleen would have solved the problem. If the cancer originates elsewhere and then establishes root in the spleen, it is likely that the cancer has spread to other organs as well. Chemotherapy is the treatment of choice and prognosis is usually poor.
