We took two test and they both came out negative but she has had pains in her sides...she still hasn't started yet

Sounds like your both teenagers and dont really know much about this stuff. Its very common for women to have late periods or no period at all if she is stressed about something. Pains dont mean anything except maybe her period is about to start and will be a heavy 1.
