Please help. I have been on the pill for about 2 years now. Well my boyfriend and I had sex June 18. I didn't take a pill at the right time a week before so I took the day after pill in Monday. I startedwhat I believe was my period on June 24 and it ended the 26th. We had sex again June 29. Then next time we did it again was July 8, and afterwards I had a light spotting that lasted 3 days. I am about 12 days late and I am never late. I took a test July 8, July 19, July 21, July 24 and July 31. All have been negative and not even a faint line. Did I possibly test too early?? Since the spotting, I have been stressing over this a lot. Anything would help calm my nerves right now. Thank you.

As you took the "day after pill" your subsequent periods are likely to come at unexpected times, either early or late. But the fact you tested more than 21 days after sex, the test results should be reliable.

The negative results should be reliable. A test 21 days after the last sexual activity should provide a reliable result as you can only get pregnant when sperm enters your vagina at a fertile time. So a test taken after 20th July should give an accurate result. As time goes on a greater level of hormones (if present) would show up on the test. Unless you have had later sexual activity whereby sperm could find its way into your vagina, then it is extremely unlikely you would be pregnant. From what you have said, you should be OK.
