Ovulation is when one of your ovaries releases an egg, and there are a number of ways you can try to work out when you ovulate:
- As ovulation usually occurs around two weeks before your period starts, if you have a regular cycle you may be able to work out when you're likely to ovulate. It may take some time for that to settle after coming off the BC pill
- You may notice wetter, clearer and more slippery cervical mucus around the time of ovulation.
- There is a small rise in body temperature after ovulation. You may be able to detect this with a thermometer first thing in the morning before you get out of bed
- As around the time of ovulation hormone levels increase, ovulation predictor kits that measure the level of hormones in your urine can be used to detect this increase.
A combination of these methods is likely to dive the most accurate indication.
Other (somewhat unreliable) methods include observing things that some women experience including breast tenderness, bloating and mild tummy pain mid cycle.
For the best chance of pregnancy, have sex every two or three days throughout the month. You don't need to time it to coincide with the days you ovulate.

Hi Rhai.
You don't give specific dates to be able to offer much help, but you could be pregnant. Any time you have sex there is the risk. He doesn't need to fully ejaculate, and particularly residual semen from a previous ejaculation could escape into your vagina. 1st time or 21st time makes no difference to the risk.
I am not certain what you mean "my mens come in jan 12". I realise English is probably not your 1st language, so I will ask specific questions.
- What date did you expect your mens period to start in January?
- What dates did your last 4 periods start?
- What date did you have sex?
- When did he ejaculate?
- How old are you?
When you reply, I'll try and give more specific help

If you have been having sex apart from the time you mentioned in your first post, then you could be pregnant. A test now could be a good idea.

Probably not. But I would suggest you see a doctor for advice.
Are you trying to get pregnant?
(You haven't yet stated your age or where you are from.)
