Don't panic, especially in the early teens, the body is probably just getting used to the idea of periods :)

Mine comes every 9 months, and trying to make kids will be very difficult for me. If you're under 15 and your period is irregular then you should be okay, but if you are over 15 then it's best just to get checked out. I've had this problem since grade 6 and believe it or not, I'd have to wait 12 and a half months to get it again. In grade 8 it narrowed down to 9 months. I'm 21 now and still have to wait for 9 months. I just thought It was because my hormones were confused and never really settled and my pattern was just naturally irregular, but one day I was taking my mom to the doctors and when my mother and her check up finished up I quickly popped the question of why I have to wait so long for my period to come, she said come back for some sort of check up and when I did, they got some results and I found out that it'll be highly unlikely, maybe even impossible for me to have kids. Sorry for the long story, but all in all, even if you are not 15 or over, it's always safe to go to a doctor so you know what you're dealing with. Everyone's body is different and their are many reasons why your period might be like that.

I'm 13 and I had my first period last year in December when I was 12. Now I'm in 8th grade and I still have always had my period every other month. Is that my usual cycle? Is that normal? I play soccer a lot so I guess you could say I'm an athlete. Do I have to go on birth control pills? I can't take pills because I have a hard time swallowing them. I'm really scared because my mom gets them regularly and she had really bad cramps and I have cramps too but they're not severe or anything. I have friend that has cramps so bad that she throws up! I've never done that! But please help me I'm really scared!!!!!

Hey, I'm 14 and got my period when I was 12... I have my period every other or even every 3 months. I bearly have any cramps... I hope nothing is wrong with me and my mom does not trust doctors and I live with 5 brothers and no sisters so I'm pretty much alone too! I've heard it takes 2 to 21/2 years to get all the hormones regulated to maybe that is the problem!
