Lots of boys, probably almost every 14 year old boy masturbates.  Even if he doesn't ejaculate yet, it likely brings him a very good feeling.  Plus, since he's not ejaculating, he can keep doing it.

Tell him to be a little more careful and to do it in private.  I don't think you should make a big deal about him actually masturbating, just when and where he does it.

Eventually he should slow down.

Hey, so my son is 12 years old and I caught him several times masturbating. I was reading a little bit about this, and now from your post, I can see that children masturbation is nothing to be concerned about. But when I told you that I caught him several times, I meant that I caught him several times per day so I am really scared that he can become addicted to masturbation. I don't know what I should do, should I talk to him or let him do this, because, as you said, it is normal? Let me know what to do. I am kind of worried. 

Thanks for reply, we have been to health professionals and they are concerned...hes keeps us awake at night..we have told him to keep his door closed and he wont even do this when he gets busted he stays hard.....this is causing major issues in the home and also with my step daughter being here she is 13

I agree with dan. At 14 I could hardly keep my hands off it. However I was about 14 when I began to get some sticky stuff coming out and I had to stop playing pocket pool in school because the wet spot on my pants was obvious. I began when I was 10 and I like to refer to the years before 14 as the dry years. They were much more fun because there was no mess and I could do it with abandon. I did have an orgasm though, why else would you bother doing it?

So even though he has the mind of a 7 or 8 year old, he has the physical attributes of a 14 year old. It seems as though your whole family is quite tolerant of his behaviour, which I feel is a good thing and you shouldn't make him feel bad or guilty about it. Just work on getting him to know he should try to keep it private.

I can understand the concern but he is what he is and those close to him need to work together to help him. At 13 I think your step daughter is old enough to know that boys (and girls) do that and she certainly has first hand knowledge about the boys now. I assume she doesn't want to bring her friends over to visit but otherwise how is she dealing with it?

Why to forbid a boy who certainly is suffering by his psychical state to use this natural drug freely!!!???? The only way to "relieve" the urge...is to masturbate....get rid of it. So if he needs to stop, then he needs to have orgasms until he loses interest. He may have to do it 2 or 3 or 4 times in a row and then the interest will go away. Just how us guys are built.
