I'm 14, and a virgin, yet for about a week my vag has smelled horrible.! Like possibly something sour, or I don't know. I've not had any odd discharge or anything, and you can't tell at all or anything, but it's just nasty and I don't know what it is...?

Hello my dear,
Could you tell me more about any discharge or what the smell is possibly comparable to? Foul smell is not usually a symptom associated with yeast infections, but it may be worth looking into. This site has a lot of great information on them:
If you are a virgin, it is unlikely that you have an STI, but life has its way of playing cruel jokes on us and it may still be a minute possibility that that is what it is. Gonorrhea usually has a very foul odor associated with it and it can be cleared up with a simple and routine round of antibiotics. Usually, your local Health Department or Planned Parenthood will offer free or low cost STD testing and more often than not, the Health Department will provide you with any necessary medications for free or at a very low cost.
Have you started menstruating yet? It is possible that your body is making some crazy hormonal shifts in preparation for it. I know personally that the week following my period, I have a stranger smelling discharge and it is also often a different consistency than it normally is any other time of the month.
Regardless of any information you receive on this site, I would highly advise visiting your gynecologist. These are things that only a trained doctor who is actually familiar with you and your body can diagnose and treat properly. If you're worried about your parents finding out, speak with the nurse or counselor at your school and see if they may be able to point you in the direction of a doctor, clinic, or organization that will be able to see and treat you confidentially and discreetly.
If you have never had a gynecological exam, do not be afraid. It is a routine part of life and it is necessary to maintain good health, both vaginally and overall. I'm not gonna lie; it will be awkward and it will be a little uncomfortable. And that isn't something that will go away with repeat visits. Regardless of how many times it has been done before, it will always be a little strange for someone other than yourself to be sticking their finger or medical instruments into your vagina, which is normally considered a VERY PRIVATE part of one's self. And for some women, it feels strange for even themselves to look or touch themselves down there. However, unless you feel like risking going through life with untreated problems, odors, infections, diseases, or even risking your FERTILITY, you should most definitely go to the doctor and discuss your concerns with him or her. For some women, it is more comfortable to go see a female doctor and if that is the case, then just make sure you find a doctor matching your specifications. Luckily we live in a country where we have access to many different types of doctors and specialists and you should do a little bit of research before deciding on any doctor. After all, these are going to be the people who will be discussing with you and treating the most sensitive parts of ourselves.
