Recently I've been feeling sick, this is the first month I've EVER missed a period. I am not under stress. Here is what is happening.. When I wake up I feel hungry when I go to eat something the smell makes me sick to my stomach, I've been going to the bathroom A LOT more. However. I recently have gone to the doctors they tested my urine for a UTI I happened to have one that was just starting. I was given medication for the UTI, and I still am having the same symptoms. I have cramps, I feel sick in the morning, some foods I HATE I end up eating, I've been gaining weight, I've been having cramps, I have constipation, I feel moody. I've never been pregnant before, but I feel like I am. I've used a pregnancy test twice, and I've gone to the hospital to be tested ALL negative. Why is my period late... would a UTI cause all this...? %-)

There seems to be A LOT of stories here that are almost identical to mine...I am 12 days late, history of irreggular periods...having all the preg symptoms...(been preg. 2x's so know the feeling)...BUT have had 5-6 neg. home tests..and one neg blood test. I was SO sure that i was preg. still think I am..symptoms are not going away...I had problems with my last preg...low hormone lvls..and ended up losing it at 9-10 weeks. I am wondering if I maybe my cycle is longer this month...if it is i am STILL late...but that would affect my results...Dr is sending me for another test in a week..i am hoping it comes back pos. otherwise there is something definitely wrong with me!
GUEST~your UTI should be cleared up by now..did you take all the antibiotics the dr gave you...it is very important to follow their directions when it comes to infections...cause it is possible to feel like you are over it, but you body is still fighting it and it can come back in full force

Hi i am going through the same thing at the moment and i have had 3 negative tests but i keep feeling sick and my breasts are tender, i also cannot drink wine as it just does not want to go down lol, i have 4 children and had at least 3 tests with my 1st 2 girls, my 3rd girl i had 7 negative tests and the last one which was the 8th! Was positive, i have a 2 year old boy and did one test (cost a pound from the pound shop lol) which showed positive very early on and straight away which i decided myself it was the different hormones in the sex of the baby as it was very unusual to have that show up with the boy and the negative ones i had with my girls! All you can do is keep testing lol and hopefully you wont have to wait too long for a positive result! I am also hoping it wont be too long till i find out my result lol. Tc x

It is nice to know I am not alone. I do not have regular periods - diagnozed with PCOS 2 years ago...right after diagnosis became pregnant with my first daughter. About 4 weeks ago I started having prenancy symptoms - came on slowly with nausea, then I notices my brests were really swollen, continued nausea, food cravings, pee all the time, cramping with no period. I don't have a period so I don't have anything to judge as far as time goes I've taken 5 preggo tests and all negative (took all in the early am). I am beginning to think I am crazy for believing I am pregnant but just don't know what else it could be! Glad to hear that others are having the same experiences so maybe I am pregnant and just need to be patient.

I belive I am pregnant now, but test negative . Its just like the firt pregnancy. I test negative for 8 weeks. And a friend of mine test neagtive on a blood test, but insisted on a vigainal ultralsound and there it was . She was indeed pregnant 5 weeks along.
I suggest that on wait as long as you can stand it then go to the doctor, but insist on a ultral sound.

I havnt had tender breasts, but I have had an increase in headaches, gastro (stomach aches), I've been really tired and I've been eating more. I have put on about 4 kg's since August and all of it has been around my mid-section. My pants are tighter, cant even button up some of them. I had tests done for thyroid problems and aneimia, and other things but all came back clear. Have not been under any stress at all. I have been booked in for a pelvic scan this thursday to check my ovaries and see if everything's ok. Hopefully I can then get an explanation as to why I havnt gotten my period for so long. I have never had irregualr periods before, am worried that it might be something serious.
I can relate to this. I am currently looking into appendix problems. I have had 4 neg tests, nausea all the time, tired gained 15 lbs. no period for 3 months, sore breasts which have also grown to the point I had to get bigger bras, enlarged nipples, always tired and hungry, cravings - more symptoms than I ever even had with my first 2 pregnancies combined. hormones are crazy too, pimples, have to pee within 1 minute of realizing I even have to go, now after 3 months I began realizing how my bowel movements have slowed way down, sharp pains in my very lower right side and stabbing pains in my belly button. I was told if fever follows - go to the ER right away....this can cause death....but also make certain people feel pregnant. (nausea, vomiting, tiredness, swelling of abdomen...mine appears to be digestive swelling, but my belly definitly looks pregnant, but isn't....maybe you should have a scan to see if this cold be your issue - it took me 3 1/2 months of being sure I was pregnant to find out I wasn't but need digestive surgery....good luck - I hope this isn't this case for you!!

I've been looking up the same thing and come across alot of articles that say some women might have lower amounts of hCG so I would wait to take another test. But if you think your pretty sure your pregnant then go to the doctor for the sure result! Hope that helps!

Watch out with the low hcg levels... over a year ago I had an overwhelming feeling I was pregnant and when my very regular 28 day cycle didn't come I took repeated HPT's with negative results until around five days late, I got a very, very faint positive on 1st response. I then had a blood test to confirm and was told that the pregnancy wouldn't be viable as the hcg levels were way too low. I lasted through to 7weeks and after experiencing what I thought was a misscarriage, I was taken to hospital with excrutiating pain and finally an ectopic pregnancy was confirmed, 5cm mass in my tube! Here I am again feeling pregnant, one day late and 2 negative HPT's!!!

We report a case with three consecutive false negative pregnancy tests in a twin pregnancy who presented with severe hyperemesis gravidarum and jaundice. We looked at various possibilities for negative pregnancy tests. Most test kits have one antibody to site β1 and another to β-CTP or to the α-subunit. β-subunit core fragment, a breakdown product of hCG saturate the β-site and block any hCG from forming a sandwich between β1 site and the other site, giving false negative result. Dehydration, decreased urinary pH, hepatitis, effect of preservatives and contaminants, ketones and bilirubin, and solubility of various forms of hCG in urine, defective β-HCG biosynthesis and rapid clearance of the hormone from the circulation could have compounded the outcome of the result. It might mislead or delay the diagnosis and could have potential medical implications. Clinical suspicion of pregnancy should be followed up with serum β-hCG and ultrasound.

I wouldn't trust a hpt as far as I could throw one...I did one with first morning urine the day after a missed period and got a negative. Ten days later I got a positive (and I have a beautiful little boy!). Now I am seven days late on my period and got another negative on a hpt (you'd think I would have learned to save my money, eh?) So right now I'm waiting and seeing...if I don't get my period by the time my eldest is back in school (two weeks from now) I'll get a blood test done at the Dr.s. Those have always been more accurate for me.
And just wondering, does anyone else feel like the WORLD is watching you buy your hpt? This time I got one at the supermarket - with my three little boys in tow. Maybe it was just me, but I felt like every second person was rolling their eyes at my fertility... XD

Hi, Im Donna, Im glad i found this thread, I am 5 days late for my period, i took a test (first response) on 26th Aug and it was very faint positive, further tests (today) are even fainter or negative!
Im going out of my mind! I feel pregnant, i have symptoms but the tests are just letting me down! Im going mad!!
Im regular 28days and have never been this late, i actually feel pregnant, just crappy test results! I sooo hope if i want a few more days i might get a better result!

Ive got exactly the same thing. My period is only ever late by max of one day and im always on really heavily. last month, i was four days late and only came on really lightly. I am currently nine days late this month, my stomachs bulging and im hiding it under big jumpers, my nipples are brown, sore and swollen, im walking a little bit oddly, im nauseated by apples and rice and i have been sick alot. My tests came out negative too, so i dont no what to do as im 15.

i know how you feal. im going through the same thing. i had 2 urine tests and 1 blood test, came back negative. i spotted for a couple of hours last month, and this month i am over two weeks late. not normal for me. i am also on seizure meds, thats why i need to know, if i am pregnant. i've had nausea, slight cramping, my breasts have gotten bigger since last month, and my abdomin is getting slightly bigger. i am so confused, can i be pregnant?

I'm posting here as I have had no luck in finding a lot of followup with people who post on sites. I plan on documenting where I am at and then following up when I know for sure what's going on!

I have had multiple negative HPT's and I went to the Dr yesterday and he did a urine test (I don't know why I told him I had already done that), which was negative, and he refused to do a blood test as he said the urine test was accurate. I guess it's my bad for going to a male doctor! Anyway, I am pretty sure I am pregnant and will wait until I miss my second period before I test again in the interest of not going throuh a dozen HPT's.
With my son it only took us a month to get pregnant; however, I had my period that month, just a little lighter, so I didn't know I was pregnant. Then I missed my period the next month, so I was already almost 2 months pregnant before I tested, hence the positive, I have no idea if the HPT would have tested accurately if I had tested more around the time of my abnormal period.
Anywho, this is as much for my sanity as trying to help out others in the same situation. If I am not pregnant, well, we'll just try again! And if so, I will definately start to believe in the fact that a woman just knows when she is pregnant.
As for history, my husband and I have been TTC and I only have a few symptoms, I didn't have a lot the first time either. I feel nauseous every now and again, but not that bad, it wasn't the first time either. I've been getting intermittent headaches, not normal for me. As I said though, I don't normally experience too many of the early symptoms, at least I didn't the first time.
So...I'm just waiting and if I don't get my next period I will definately not take no for an answer for further testing.

Megan W for your first pregency were you able to get a positive test, I think i am about 7 weeks pregnant and have taken may htps but all are neg. i have had one blood test also neg. Now eaiting for 2nd blood test results, very tired sore breasts, cramping but no period for four weeks now, have gained little weight but clothes are very snug and uncomfortable. Can any one else relate to this experience, tired and confused.

My period is late 3 weeks and I feel tired all the time, cramping, my back hurts which never happened before, when I get hungry I eat, but then an hour later I'm hungry again and my stomach is growling. When I eat though, I don't have an appitite. I use to love Apple Pie but today I went to eat some and it didn't appeal to me like it use to. I feel like my stomach is getting tighter. And it hurts to slowch forward. My boyfriend says I'm pregnant, but I took HPTs and its neg. I've never been pregnant before so I don't what to think.
