So I've always known I've had a slight case of phimosis or a frenulum breve for years. I'm 18 now and becoming more sexually active so it's been on my mind a bit more. The actual concern of a tight foreskin is not a problem any more as it has since stretched out to the point where I am content. My frenulum had always been short however, and while I could pull it just past the glans when erect, any further and there was obvious tightness and the head would bend downward.
Recently I was masturbating and I believe I tore my frenulum. Now I'll be honest, I was a bit intoxicated so I didn't exactly notice anything until the next morning. There was no blood however, and when I woke up the next morning it became sore just to simply pull back the foreskin when flaccid (which I assume is normal if it happened simply hours before). It's been about a week, I've been freaking out about it and it still is a bit sore. The sore basically looks like a small cut, or as if someone scratched a small hole the size of maybe a pinhead right on my frenulum. I'm still waiting for it to heal.
Up until yesterday I thought this was natural, however I noticed my skin has been peeling around the frenulum and on the foreskin attached to it. At first I couldn't differentiate between it being possibly smegma or dead skin, but I'm thinking its one or the other, all I know is it was more than usual of whatever it was. This morning I decided after my shower to keep the foreskin back and let the area dry out a bit (similar to how you let a cut dry out a bit after long periods of having a bandaid on it). When I let the foreskin return to normal, I noticed that the foreskin notably around the area that connects to the frenulum is swollen. This is only noticeable if you really look, but it is noticable when retracted (the skin is tighter, etc). I also noticed slight blotchy redness around the head of my penis in certain areas. I was wondering if this might be infection or if its just a reaction to the sore. There are very, very, very miniscule bumps that I can hardly make out where the redness is, like a rash, which leads me to believe the area is just simply irritated. This usually appears after I've been tinkering with the area for a bit.
Is all this healing process normal? I read the foreskin can get a little swollen when the area around it has dealt with a direct trauma. I'm thinking the redness/rash is simply my penis being a bit irritated. I must also mention the area that is supposedly healing is becoming a bit itchy... is this also part of the healing process? Sorry for the long post, I'm a bit concerned. I want to get the healing process done with before I talk to a doctor about my frenulum breve. Thanks in advance for all the help. =)
PS I might also add that I've been using a different soap for the past week or two. Not sure if it's a reaction to that either but I'm just layin that out there in case that's a good reason.

I'd like to add now that I think I know what most of the issue is. Aside from the actual tear in the frenulum, I think the redness, itchiness, and slight swelling comes from a small yeast infection.
I'm going to try and remedy this before I worry about my breve. Any other suggestions are welcome though. =)
