Yes i have that same problem, sometimes it contracts and shows up in my right nostril, but it is mostly in my left nostril, i've noticed that i get dizzy when i bend and i am sleepy most of the time. there is very bad odour that comes from my left nostril. plz help. the mucous that comes out if i pick it is usually yellow like it has been in there for a while, i think this is what gives off the bad odour.

Hey guys. you are all suffering from various degrees of a deviated septum. You should see your doc. I spent 6 mnths trying to self diagnose.. most of it in the bathroom mirror trying to keep my rt nostril cleared out. Swelling, pain, pressure, lump, ooze, I even removed a large 'drain tube' that appeared to have collapsed in on itself. ~ ouch
In the end. If your mucus cant drain... you are going to have a laundry list of problems. When I 1st got one lump to release.. I felt it above my eye. the sinus pressure left.. for the 1st time in my adult life!!! for real! It was like my eye deflated.
anyways its nt worth the pain and suffering.. in the end you need a doc ;-)

Wow... I wasn't expecting to find so much information in one board. I've noticed it within the last week. Its not really painful, but when i press on it, it will bleed. Has anyone found any more info? I'm pretty glad its not a brain tumor or something =P.

i just found the same thing the other day and went to my doc. he was rather taken a back and had no idea what it is. its hard but soft and very glossy. at first i thougt it was a boogie too lol. its blocked my nostril off nearly completly and kinda looks like flesh or something. im so worried its a tumor :-( i really think it must be attached in there somewhere and when i blow my nose hard enough it moves down but wont come out and then goes back up. i have an ap with the nose people so hope to find out something out. but il let you all know more when i know.

ok i went to a specialist today and found out what i have is called a polyp.
i have one in both nostrils and require sugery to remove them. i just had xrays done today and am now waiting for the results before i can have the sugery.

umm....that's kinda weird!i'm 18,f, i have a similar problem where a hard swelling inside my right nostril grew more and began to hurt!it improved even worse :( my teeth began to hurt!my upper lip also swelled!! this thing was really annoying! however, a doctor diagnised it as an allergic reaction to somekinds of food!took an anti-histamine!worked but for about 2 weeks only!after that it swelled all over again! allergy medicines worked temporarly everytime! but after about 3 weeks the condition goes back!! still not sure what this is! i'd bel realy glad to find a solution!
I has the exact same problem, the dr perscribed me anti-histamines but they only made me worse. I found out today that it was a boil up in the inside of my nose so they gave me Amoxcillin (250mg) and Neseptin Nasal Cream, this should work :)

I have a painful lump on the inside of my nose. It is causing the outside of my nose to swell up to where the cartilage begins. Now, my gland is tender, my teeth/jaw is hurting, ear is aching and eye is twitching. This has all developed in the last day and a half. Any ideas?

it's not a deviated septum...i just broke my nose and had an extremely deviated septum.

Going to an ENT is not scary...They can help.
Do NOT pick at it...keep it moist..There's a product called Ayr Gel...use that :)

I had a huge mass by the bridge of my nose 2 days ago. It felt really hard like a bone. My moms a nurse and she told me its like an inside out pimple thats infected. So I decided to clean my face really good. The way I usually do that is to take a heat proof measuring cup and fill it with tap water. I stuck it in the microwave for 1 minute and 15 seconds. Then I added a little cold tap water to it because it was a little too hot. I took it to the sink and washed my face with with cold tap water then scrubbed with an exfloiliating acne wash (using a soft face brush). I do this in a circular motion. I rinsed it with the warm water, scrubbed my face again with the face brush and repeated with the exfoiliating acne wash. After I did a final rinse with some more of the warm water. I then patted dry with a clean face cloth. When I woke up this morning, the hard mass was gone!! I couldn't believe it! Thank goodness!
