Right, so, I went to one of those ReadyCare places because I have pain at the tip of my penis and my semen has been watery lately for some reason, possibly due to a resurgent infection or something (I had epididymitis a few months back). The Pakistani ReadyCare doctor guy that I got asked me how many times per day I masturbate. I was honest - generally 2-3 times. He felt my junk, and then told me to sit down, and said in a harsh tone "I want you to accept what I am going to tell you." My reaction inside was basically "oh c**p, that can't be good"... then he proceeded to say that masturbating "that much" (far as I know it isn't a huge amount) causes internal irreparable scarring in the penis via stretching it that'll lead to future infertility. He likewise believes that it caused the epididymitis, via retracting urine or something, and told me to stop masturbating for a month in addition to re-prescribing the infection medication (doxycycline). I stopped for 3 days, thinking he's clearly incorrect but not wanting to take my chances - and I just did it, because I just couldn't hold in the urge (for the record, what came out was still watery). So, will I or will I not be infertile because of this? Is that doctor a quack, or is he somehow onto something even though it contradicts what I can glean off the websites of Stanford University and the Mayo Clinic? And if my suspicion is correct, how in the hell could this individual have obtained an MD? eh

Oh, and as an unrelated side-note, I know semen consistency isn't related to fertility and is often affected by diet, but what in particular are the most likely dietary causes of that consistency?

hey there will,

Masturbation does NOT cause a loss of fertility and even it is did/does cause scarring of the penile tissue that has no effect on fertility since the spermcells are made in the testicles and the bulk portion of the semen are made by different accessory glands like the prostate and seminal vessicles.... this guy i think is just wanting you to stop mastubating so he told you this scennario to scare you....

Masturbating 2-3 times a day as an adult is excessive whether you accept it or not. Your doctor is absolutely correct in believing the epididymitis was caused by masturbation because that's where the sperm is carried through and your habit will only aggravate it even more. But let's forget what the doctor said for now, if you choose to continue masturbating even as your body is signaling for you to stop, then so be it. I took my epididymitis as an opportunity to finally quit my masturbation addiction and bring natural balance back to my body, not only did the infection go away for good, but I also regained my sexuality and normal hormone levels. Masturbation increases estrogen in your body and decreases testosterone, which put my hormones out of balance and caused the initial infection, according to my doctor. Take the time to research the consequences of masturbation addiction and the many benefits of stopping, then maybe this will all make sense to you. Ever wonder why your infection resurged in the first place? You can continue denying that masturbation is damaging your organs, or you can accept that it does then choose to take better care of it. Do it for your health and future fertility before you develop something worse than epididymitis.

Choose wisely,

Will

Hey there when did you have epididymiitis? Did they find out what caused bit. I do not see a problem with masturbating after it. Have you been treated?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I was treated, took antibiotics, and I just finished them. There is still at times at very slight sensation, but supposedly this should be gone.

I don't know if I cause this by masturbating every day. I will talk more clearly to my doctor next time but I would like your view for now, if you have any more info.

Many thanks.

You're welcome Are you sexually active at all? Epididymitis is usually caused by a bacterial infection. A lot of times it is due to an STD or poor hygiene. Are you circumcised?

Hey guys, OP here. I found this randomly on a Google search for a totally unrelated issue, actually related to trust of ReadyCare doctors. Really surprised it's gotten the reaction it did.For the people wondering about my story: I was 18 when I had epididymitis, 19 when I posted this. I'm 22 now. I was on the doxycycline for another few weeks, then my urologist took me off it. Once the tip pain was gone, I still had aches down in my left nut for a little while, but not a long time. I was sent for another ultrasound; I had what looked like the beginning of a varicocele and a minor benign cyst (possibly from the epididymitis itself). It's questionable whether I had epididymitis at all past the initial round. I haven't had pain in that area in years and have had a pretty active sex life with my girlfriend for the last two....of course, years later I developed random limb and upper abdominal aches, which I've had for a month now. The doctors seem to believe that's stress/IBS stuff, but I'm being tested for celiac too.
