hi I had one herpes outbreak 7 years ago and not another since. I have had two long term relationships and not told either of the guys. I was too ashamed. I have had regular check ups at sexual health clinics and I just want to know if its still ok to keep this from my boyfriend. He does not accept lying and I don't want to lose him because in a conversation 3 years ago I told him I had had no std's. Am I being selfish? Is it ok to keep this from him, so I can keep him? 7 years is a long time and in that time no one has gotten an std from me and I have had no more outbreaks, just the one. It was a bad part of my life, is it ok to forget about it?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Herpes cannot be cured and just because you are not showing any symptoms does not mean you cannot still transfer it. If you get sick and it decides to flare up and you give it to him how are you gonna handle that? You should have told him and your other partners from teh beginning. and you need to tell him now.
