Hi, a week ago I started going to the gym. I decided to take this step only because my friend convinced me to. I was surprised how hard it is to keep up with him. On the third day, after the workout, I went home. And then it happened. My Calves hurt like hell. The same friend told me that I might have overtrained them. Could this be true?

Hi, first of all, I would like to congratulate you on your decision. However, you should have done it not because of your friend but because of yourself. Anyway, it works both ways. You did not mention the workout program you are using. Perhaps your friend has forced you more then he was supposed to. You should know that there are a lot of programs designed for beginners as well as for experienced bodybuilders. Therefore, your friend is probably right. You could have overtrained your calves. If you exercise them way too often and intensively, then it is certain that this is the case. You should stay away from the gym for a while. When you go back, ask a professional trainer to develop a workout program that will be appropriate for your level.
