Just before I start to urinate, I get a sharp pain. As I continue to urinate it goes away. No fever or burning. Just a sharp pain at the beginning of the pee. Is this a urinary tract infection? Or something else?

Hi there,

This can definitely be caused by urinary tract infection but this also might be from something else. When you have urinary tract infection you should feel the pain not just only before you urinate but even when you urinate. It would be a sort of burning sensation when you urinate. Now in my opinion this pain might be caused by a cyst in your urinary tract. Can you explain little more about the location of the pain? Do you have it on tip of your penis or somewhere deeper in your body? Have you been using any pain medication or maybe some antibiotics? I think that antibiotics could help you if there is an infection in your urinary tract.
