PAIN IN THE TOOTH FOR WEEKS NO RELIEVE

The reason why over the counter pain relievers dont help the pain of an abcess is because the nerve in the tooth is dying or dead. That is what causes the pain and unfortuently the only way to relieve the pain is getting a root canal done or extracting the tooth (only by a dentist, do not attempt yourself)! You dont want to keep an abcess tooth lingering without proper attention due to the abcess literally being infection (pus) which you do not want to stay in your body! I am a dental assistant and see this all the time. please see your dentist or walk in clinic asap!
