Hello kma,
You may have been hit pretty hard and that may have caused cellular damage and inflammation from the blow. You might want to use alternating cold and warm compresses. Cold compress is to inhibit inflammation by slowing down blood circulation to that area. Warm compresses allow for increased circulation so the immune system can begin healing the area. I think that's all you can do at the moment but if nothing is seriously wrong compresses should work. If your symptoms continue much more than a week or so, seeing a doctor would be a good thing. You might also try drinking warm beverages to increase circulation internally. This may bring down some of the swelling.
