I have this painful bump on my mouth and would like to hear what might have caused it? It has appeared on my gum I think a week ago and so far it has grown and looks more like some sort of ulcer and it has become painful I stopped even eating for it cause me pain. What do you think is the best treatment for this painful bump on my mouth and how long this would take?

That painful bump on your mouth or precisely on gum might be caused by some injury-just check out if you have some sharp teeth there so you might have injured that area with it and the result is this painful bump you have now. And if it is not that than it may be some ulcer caused by some viral infection such as herpes or you are simply in lack of vitamin B or even iron. Anyway in both situations you should maintain your oral hygiene regularly try now to wash your mouth with the mix of salt and warm water and try with some anesthetics for that pain you have but keep in mind you might have some numbness of that area after using anesthetic. And if it is ulcer than it usually takes about 1 or 2 weeks for the ulcer to disappear.
