I am writing this because I have had a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck for a month now. I noticed it about a week after I had a very swollen and sore throat, and small fever.
I went to my doctor who said my throat was very raw and prescribed a 5 day z-pack to treat pharyngitis.
I did not notice a difference in the redness inside my throat, or the size in my lymph node after I finished the z-pack.
I returned to my doctor who looked at my throat, and said it was still red and rough. He did basic blood work and said it was all normal. He prescribed a stronger antibiotic that I took three times a day.
It has been 2 weeks since then and my throat is fine but my lymph node is still very visibly swollen, though it does seem to be somewhat smaller.
I have no other symptoms and feel fine.
I am very paranoid and worried about it. I read all these horrible things online about it possiy being lymphoma or HIV.
This freaks me out, and I'd love piece of mind.
