Hello, I am 27 years old. Two of my teeth hurt every time I drink something hot, or when I go out when it’s windy. My husband is making me visit the dentist, even if he knows how scared I am just of thinking on that chair and blinding light. I have panic attack every time when I need to go to the dentist. How can I beat this feeling?

Hi, I lost many of my teeth, because I was too scared to go to the dentist. I have this panic disorder since I was a child. Every time when I had to go to fix my teeth, I was locking my self in the room, or hiding under the bad. When I grew up, there was no longer my mother to chase me, so I simply didn’t go. How I wish I did! This condition is called dental phobia, and it usually comes from traumatic personal dental experiences. Once, I found some courage to visit the dentist, and when I set on that chair, I fainted. Some people found that amusing, so they laughed at me. This embracing situation only made my fear worse. It is probably late for me to look for some medical help, but you have still time to cure this fear. Maybe you should try with hypnosis. I heard it helps!
