I am desperate for answers, diagnosed by the amazing, doc Larian in 2012 with parathyroid disease, sestamibi negative-last done 2 years ago!!!!!! PTHx3 D25 at 11- calcium sometimes slightly high seen 3 surgeons who say no positive scan tough- I can't afford Larian so I am looking for anyone who will help me -Larian even got me a surgeon to know avail-Pasieka wasn't sure-If Dr Tabah could help I know I will be cured-such politics_Anyone who has ideas about Tabah or the Canadian surgeons that don't need a scan please help!!!!!!!!!!!

How does one go about contacting Dr Tabah in tl? How long does one have to wait for surgery and how much does it cost? I live in Ontario, have been diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism and have a positive sistamibi (sp?)scan.

I will be having mirp with Dr. Roger Tabah in Montreal. I am also Canadian and as far as I know, he is the only dr. in Canada to do the minimally invasive approach. I live in Ontario and was able to cover it with OHIP

Hi AP. I need the parathyroid surgery. Cannot find ANYONE here in Canada that is doing this. I see Dr. Tabah but what was your wait time and did you have to have all the forms filled out and by whom? I met with a general surgeon today that only does a handful a year. Can your GP fill these out for surgery outside the province? I know mine is not going to want to do that!! OR did you just get a referral and they took you in without all the red tape. Looking for OHIP to cover this!

I had parathyroid surgery at Norman Parathyroid Center in Tampa Fl. If you can Go there. I was told there was nothing wrong with me and that I had that fatigue syndrome. I actually had two large tumors. Look up there site and read read read before you go any other place for surgery. My surgery took 20 min. Here in Wa state they said it would take 4.5 hours. Their site has all the questions you will need to ask your Dr. When looking for a surgeon. Best of luck.
