I am 37 yrs old, I had my tubes cut and burned 15 yrs ago. Two weeks ago I wanted to have sex with my boyfriend so I used Instead softcup to block my flow. My period was very light and spotty, which is not usual and only lasted for 2-3 days. I have occassional nasea, a little cramping like my period is coming but nothing, my breast are not tender but I see discharge when i squeeze them. Can I be pregnant??

Hello,

I am much younger than you Daajas, in fact I'm only 18! And I've never had an experience anywhere close to yours, but considering you're having discharge from your breasts, I figured I'd do a little research for you. I searched and I found this:

The statistics are that 1 in 200 women who have had their tubes tied become pregnant again. Most pregnancies that occur (70%) in women who have had their tubes tied are ectopic, and can be dangerous if not detected early enough and seen by a doctor.

So judging by the discharge, I'd go get things checked out.

Also you can have menstrual symptoms even though you are pregnant, but you probably already knew that.

See a doctor, and GOOD LUCK!

Wishing you nothing but love,

The Little Bird On Your Shoulder

Hi. I have some answers and questions. From everything that I've read it sounds like the period you had could have been implantation bleeding.. though a couple months ago I thought that I was having the same thing. I had my regular period and then about a week later.. the weird period. I was so confused I have never been pregnant before and at that time I had no idea that there would even be implantation bleeding when you do get pregnant. But unfortunately I was not pregnant. Maybe it will be the same for you. As far as the nausea and the cramping.. it could be sign that your period is on the way. It's seems like it is still a little too early to tell. So if you don't start your period in a week or two. I'd say that it was time to take or test. But if you don't want to wait that long you should go see your doctor. Especially if you've had your tubes cut.

Now... I'm 22 and me and my hubby are hoping for a child. We've been trying for about 6 or 7 months now. For a while it seemed like every month I would be so hoping to be pregnant that my body would start to think I'm pregnant. Meaning that I would feel cramps and bloating a week before I'm supposed to get my period which isn't normal for me.. and then maybe a day or two after my period was supposed to start, it starts. But a couple days ago things started feeling very different. I had my period June 22. My hubby and I have had sex regularly since my period ended.. if not every day at least every other day. I know that the time that I would have been ovulating would have been sometime around monday.. give or take a few days.. based on what I've read. Tuesday I started feeling bloated and certain smells just made me want to barf, I even had to go outside to get some air. I was feeling hot and cold at the same time. Meaning my skin was warm but I was wearing a jacket (a light one) outside. My hubby thought that I might be getting sick so he gave me some medicine. Before I could even get it all down I was in the bathroom throwing up. That was the first and last time since then doing that. But the other symptoms haven't stopped. Everyday since then I wake up with nausea and it sometimes goes away for a while or comes back depending on what I eat or where I'm at. Certain smells that never bothered me before make me literally want to puke my guts out. Occasionally my back would ache and I would feel bloated. When I sleep I toss and turn alot. I haven't really had a normal appetite. Even my hubby is concerned because I don't eat like I usually do. I know that it may be too soon to tell. But if anyone could give me some advice I'd really appreciate it.

I don't want to talk to my hubby about this right now because we've been through so much thinking that I was pregnant so many times before. I want to hear from you all what you think this is. Could I really be pregnant this time.. is it just too soon to tell.. or am I just thinking too much into this?? HELP.. PLEASE!!

Hi Daajas, I think that it's a little strange that you are experiencing symptoms like that despite having had tubaligation. I think that it's possible that you could be pregnant despite that but it's not highly likely. I think that perhaps it could be related to inserting the softcup? I don't really know, but it wouldn't hurt to try taking a pregnancy test in about a week just to rule that out. Does that sound like a good plan? Keep us posted okay?

Thanks for all the comments. I have already taken two pregnancy test and they were both negative. I think it maybe to soon to tell. Some other symptoms are being tired, headaches. My eating habits are weird too, I don't eat as much as usual, and when I do I feel so nauseated, I don't finish eating. I have not thrown up. This would be so easy to explain if I didn't have my tubes done, or if it wasn't 15 years ago that I had my last child. I am going to wait until my next period is due to see what happens
