myquestion: do i have pharyngitis if my throat is sore especially when swallowing.
Mild temperature and shivery feeling off and on.
Antibiotics aren't helping.
The doctor can only see very slight reddening in the throat.
It began a week ago and is still hurting.
Now my hearing is affected and the doctor says my eardrum doesn't look clear.

If your doctor couldn’t give you a diagnose, it is highly unlikely that somebody else will especially over the internet.
Your symptoms do look like some of the pharyngitis symptoms but without thorough examination, nobody can tell you more. It could be a viral cause because most commonly pharyngitis is caused by virus that causes the common cold, flu (influenza virus), adenovirus, mononucleosis, etc
If you are uncertain about this doctor, maybe you should get a second opinion.
I have had similar symptoms for over a month. I don’t have fever but I feel as if something’s stuck in my throat and whenever I eat or drink coffee, it gets irritated and I experience swallowing problems. I have been to a doctor, she prescribed me antibiotics, lemon pastilles, told me that nothing’s wrong with my lungs, the throat is just a bit swollen and that’s it.
I have my blood and urine tested but I don’t have the time to see my doctor and tell her that this thing from my throat is not going away, and that I experience swollen and sore lymph nodes.

Does Pharyngitis cause bad breath? Also, can a symptom be coughing up very small whitish (stinky ) chunks? I read that it usually causes a sore throat, but I do not have that.
