Pharyngitis is the inflammation of the pharynx which is caused by viruses, adenovirus, mononucleosis, HIV etc. The pharyngitis could be caused by bacteria such as streptococcus, corynebacterium, Chlamydia pneumoniae etc.
Pharyngitis occurs mostly in the cold months and often results in sore throat. The most serious case is a strep throat caused by streptococcus bacteria, it can lead to rheumatic fever, kidney dysfunction, also somo more severe conditions.
To diagnose the strep throat, it is usually performed the throat swab culture or streptococcal screen. There are few symptoms which you might feel when you have pharyngitis, these are fever, headaches, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, runny nose, sore throat, also you could have difficulties swallowing and pretty rarely, troubles with breathing.
The treatment of pharyngitis depends on what is the cause, so if it is the strp throat, it must be treated with antibiotics, but most cases of pharyngitis are solved on their own.

I have Pharyngitis right now and i have all of the symptoms. I have a fever, headaches, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, runny nose, sore throat, troubles swallowing, and trouble breathing.
