I took a pill and it got stuck in my throat, i've had this problem in the past.
I try to drink water and its like its hitting a dam, and starts gagging with a weird gurgling sound before i gag and cough the water out.

I have had this problem off and on ever since I can remember. Especially if the pill is a tablet. One thing that I discovered helped when I take tablets and they get stuck is some warm or hot liquid (coffee, tea) to help disolve them faster.
Of course this does not work with capsules. When they get stuck I stand fully erect, not slouched, straightening my esophogus and drink lots and lots of liquid. It seems to help them go down easier.

My husband has had this problem for years now. He went to a dr just last year because it was getting so bad he would choke on mashed potatoes. The dr stretched his esophogus and told him it was from too much acid. You probably need to see a gastroenterologist.
