My tongues been sore at the tip for about a week now. Just stingy. I had a closer inspection tonight and it looks like I've ripped off a tastebud at the tip as there's a little, almost pore like, hole. All the tastebuds around the edge are quite red as well.

Is it possible to rip a tastebud off? Or does it sound like an infection?

Hi,

Since you are suspecting that you have ripped off a piece of your taste bud can you remember some awkward moment in which something like that could have happened? I think that something like that is not possible with your toothbrush, and unless you have been in some kind of accident I don’t see how something like ripped off taste bud could happen on its own.

But I have heard from a friend of a friend that he uses some weird technique when he has swollen taste buds. He clips them off! Of course he is a nurse so he is probably knows what is he doing but I wouldn’t try this if I were you. If you don’t get better in a few days visit your doctor.
