I am 26 yrs old and have recently had a Salpingectomy R tube removed. This happened as a result of my tube rupturing. They also had to remove 900ml of blood that had collected in my abdomen due to the rupture. This was my first pregnancy so I have been quite distressed and depressed about it all. I am anxious about the future and whether I am at risk of having another ectopic? What are the next steps I need to consider in terms of being referred to a gyn specialist? Should I ask my doctor to refer me?
If anyone has any advise I would be so grateful

I'm 38 and was rushed for emergency surgery after my right tube ruptured at 7wks pregnant. I had a feeling something just wasn't right from the beginning. I have been doing the coulda shoulda woulda questions in my head over and over. I was expecting to have a new blessing around September 10, 2011, we were picking names and all. This has been one of the most difficult and painful experiences of my life. I pray God blesses us with another chance. It has been some comfort seeing all the posts and to know others understand.

Hi! I also had an ep and left salpingectomy on 04/15/2012. My gynae told me to wait 3 or 4 cycles to let my body heal completely! I am praying that I will get pregnant again as this was my first pregnancy, I'm 29 yrs old. Has any of you had a success story since your last posts? Good luck to all of you!!

I had a left sided salpingectomy due to a ectopic pregnancy just over a week ago. My surgen told me after the operation to refrain from sex for 3-4 weeks and to wait at least 3 months or 3 full cycles before trying again for a baby. This may be different for you as I was taken in as a emergancy case as I was 14 weeks and it ruptured. But I would advise you to talk to your doctor as every case is different you may need to do something different then what other people have needed to do.

Id also like to contribute to this.I had an emergency laparoscopy due to my tube rupturing, unfortunatley they dont know if was due to E.P but my tube when it ruptured had ruptured into 3 pieces and had ended up being lodged by my pelvis bone.

So i had a salpingectomy procedure.I was told by doctor not to have any unprotected sex for the first 8 weeks - 1. because of healing and 2 because it take time for your reproductive system to get back on track and get sorted out.. We were trying for so so long, that we actually gave up - this was 3 years ago - we gave up about august last year.. and then in October i discovered i was pregnant but unfortunatley resulted in our little girl passing away. But however!! PLEASE DONT let this put you off as this was just my body and problems with me, you will get there and you will succeed, im desperate for a baby but im waiting for my apptment with obgyn to see one of their specialists for helw ith my fertility because of only having half the chance of conceiving,

Wishing you all the best xxxx

& Sending you lots of sticky baby dust and hope it magically works! xxx

Hi! I had my one fallopian tube removed last Nov 16, 2011 and I was so depressed because its my first pregnancy. I don't know how will I survive on that tragic moment. But as months go by, I just really prayed so hard to have a baby again. With the help of my husband, family, friends and my OB, thanks God I became pregnant again after a year. I was so nervous that time when I have my TVS, dated Nov. 15, 2012 and when the doctor said, no worries because your baby is on the uterus. My tears dropped and I thank God! Now I'm 27 weeks pregnant & praying for the continuous healthy pregnancy.I just want to share to all you that there's no impossible with God and have patience & don't lose hope. Goodluck! :)

I am glad I can contribute to this. 1 year and a half into our marriage ttc and failing, our gyn recommended an hsg(most painful thing I've physically experienced so far) ,i had same problem fluid filled cyst...and also fibroids...and on 22/6/2015 I had my surgery. an open incision above my pubic line. We were told to try conceiving after 4 months and our first try it was positive. On 4/11/2015...I tested positive and 4 weeks pregnant. There is hope and all depends on individuals I guess. Good luck and stay positive.

Hello,
I had my right tube removed 2/9/16..on 3/21/16 I found out I am pregnant once again :). I am very happy it happened this quickly I thought I'd NEVER have kids now as I'm 26yrs old and this will be my first baby. But.. My ob said the recent surgery will have no effect on my pregnancy that you only wait for a better understanding of your cycle (as the surgery can throw your reg cycle off schedule). I had 1 normal PD around normal time immediately following surgery. So, I'd say wait at least 1 period if your not very in tune with your body or prepared to be taking pregnancy tests. Also, the digital ones said negative, the dollar store said positive. My blood work confirmed!

Same story. I had been trying to get pregnant for over 2 years, and then when I finally got pregnant I was so excited. Something deep down in my heart just couldn't believe it was true and I knew it was ectopic. Its been 6 weeks since my surgery. Waiting patiently for God to bless me
