So, I have the same feeling you described. I also have been telling my family that is just like a baby pushing its foot up there. I get his feeling off and on only when I have eaten something I shouldn't have. I had an episode of Acute Pancreatitis last November. I am on a lowfat diet, but if I have more tha
n 20 gms of fat, I get that feeling. I have to be very careful or it could cause another pancreatic attack. I described this feeling to my doctor and he confirmed it was the pancreas.

I have the same issues and am so happy to have found this thread, I had it once before in 1986 and went through all sorts of testing, They found nothing! When I went to the dr this time, he thought it might be related to IBS and intestinal gas pressure. Nothing helps but a heating pad. I am going to watch what I eat and try to get rid of those extra pounds I have put on. It helps to know I am not imagining the pressure that rolls in my stomach and lower ribs.

I experienced the same 'pressure' feeling described in these posts - but it was also accompanied with heartburn.  I took pepto which relieved the heartburn; however, the pressure sensation remained.  I figured it was digestive in nature.  I started taking Zantac 150 (which is available OTC) and took it twice daily (before breakfast and before dinner) regardless of heartburn or not.  I did this for two weeks.  The odd pressure sensation (beloe the left ribcage) started to subside within a week.  Afterwards, both ailments ceased.

What did they do about your enlarged spleen? I understand that this is a sign of an inflammation. Did they put you on antibiotics?

I have a similar feeling under my left rib cage. It has been there for over a year now and feels like a baby's foot is under my ribs. I'm not pregnant but know how that feels because I've had six babies. It started a year ago with some pretty severe digestive discomfort. The digestion is not as bad now but definitely not good and the feeling has become more obvious. Sometimes I get mild side aches. The feeling is more pronounced after a meal or when my bladder is full. I have had blood work and a CT scan and all looks good. I feel best in the morning but the feeling becomes more noticeable as the day goes on. I also have pretty severe neck tension on the left side so I'm wondering if that is contributing? Any thoughts?

Did you ever find out what it was?

Oh my gosh yes! I have the same feeling. It is worse when I sit as well. It can best be described as either a baby rubbing against your ribs or like a pulling down sort of feeling. When I stand I can feel gravity puling at it. No it doesn't hurt one bit but its an odd feeling. I don't know what it is. I figure maybe because I gained a lot of weight. It feels like there is a fat pocket in there or something has come loose.

Thanks for sharing this with us. You described how I feel. No pain just like something is there that shouldn't be there. I am so sad about it. It comes and goes. Sigh. I don't feel it now but I know at some point I will. What a mystery. Thanks again.

I have those same symptoms. I believe it gas. My mother is 87 years old, she is a doctor(in her mind) with out a degree Lol. She said gas does travel and will land any where there is an air pocket mostly under your rib cage, breast, shoulder, lower and top part of your stomach, chest and more places as well. ALWAYS SEE A PHYSICIAN TO MAKE SURE!!! WE ARE NOT DOCTORS NOR CLOSE TO BECOMING ONE.

I just noticed this today and I've looked up what it could be from several sites. From what I can tell if it is on your left it could be gas built up in your bowel and can disappear and reappear whenever. But it could also be a hernia and I've read one post of a person who had to go to the ER. I'm male,17 so hope this helps

I have had this for the last past 5 years.. I also underwent a lower and upper GI recently..because of having blood in my stool.. More concerned about that before the test were run.. The Dr came on the line and asked some ???.. one was asking if I had gerd like symptoms. I said yes and had taken antacids for years.. I didn't even mention the pain lying down with my ribs..though I am now experiencing it when I sit in a chair over an extended time.. I was diagnosed with Barrotts disease. I was told to increase my aciphex to 40 mg.. I only took 20 mg once in awhile..Now I make sure I at least do that.. if not I have this horrible feeling.. it has gone away since I Was taking it religiously since being diagnosed.. last couple days I have not taken.. I am starting to feel the effects.
