Hi, I had dreadful problems for a year. Cold sensations and numbness in my penis. Burning in my perineum. Aching and swelling testicle, pain in buttocks on one side and in anal muscles on one side. Pain down leg. Much increased need to urinate but never getting empty. A hot pain spreading up my back and buttocks. Checks for infection and prostate problems all clear. Had chiropractic treatment which helped to mobilise nerve to a point but pain remained. The pain is reduced in the morning and gets worse quickly after sitting. Found that turning upside down helped to relieve it. After 6 months pain started to take a toll on my working life and got grumpy easily unable to concentrate much. Kept doing research and insisted I was tested for an inguinal hernia by my GP. Test was positive but surgeon was not able to reproduce. I insisted on a scan or laparoscopic scan. Ultrasound revealed an occult small inguinal hernia. I had surgery and had near enough instant relief. I obviously have some nerve damage but must symptoms are gone. I am now 3 weeks post surgery with no return of symptoms except some lingering nerve pain in the form of hot neuropathy pain in buttocks which is reducing. This is a poorly understood pathology by doctors, insist on a scan and laparoscopic inspection as ultrasound is not very sensitive to rule this out before considering nerve blocks.

Just an update for everyone information. My ultrasound revealed a small hernia which was followed by laparoscopic hernia repair. I have experienced much relief and some springs have completely disappeared. My testicvles are both normal size again, no urge to go to the toilet all the time, burning sensation is not there. I can still feel some nerve twitching in my left brick but the most distressing symptoms are mainly gone. So my learning from this is that pudendal nerve entrapment should be first examined more closely for the possibility of an occult inguinal hernia. There are others on the net I have noticed that have had similar outcomes. Key words for searchers pudendal nerve entrapment, inguinal hernia, burning sensation, perineal burning, urinary urge, parathesias.

I also believe my issue is a germination....it all started after a Hyst but I had been doing body pump classes before it all started....no one asked me about a hernia, no one tested. My symptoms were consistent with pudental entrapment, yet no specialists to help.

Fast forward after being diagnosed with a pelvic prolapse back and front over 8 yrs ago,I am still in pain and my entire abdomen feels like it has dropped. If I inhale my stomach in, I can get some pressure off the petroleum section beside the pelvic floor.

To complicate things I now have eroded pelvic mesh ...I can definitely see where could be a total abdominal wall collapse with major prolapse of something pressing on a nerve.

I was always a thin person till a few years ago and 170 is my heaviest weight...for all those who suspect this, try a girdle to see if some symptoms get better...

Hi, I have the same problem for almost 6 years , now after the MRN or neurography (MRI of the nerves) thank god I do not have any neuropathy, but this test found a small inguinal hermia. I will do surgery this summer. I am very confident that will fix my problem of pudendal pain. This website gave me hope. I have been reading a lot about it and the hernia has a high change to be the responsable of my pain

You're welcome. I wouldn't wish this problem on anyone. I must admit when I read that you had this for 6 years my heart went out to you. I had it one year and it blighted my life, and the first year of my son's arrival. If you can possibly get it fixed before the summer get it done sooner rather than later. I think you will not realize what an impact it has made on you.

I wish you all the best for the future, please post again once you have your operation, and let us know h ow you got along. I think there are probably a lot of people out there like us.

Yours

James

Aha, and this is going to repair a physical tear in the gut. Colloidal silver is works against bacteria, viruses and fungal infections, and it not useful in this case.

Hi, I had inguinal hernia that was undiagnosed with both Ultrasound & MRI scan. They had to do exploratory surgery to find it. I had a mesh repair but that was 2 years ago... I now find myself in chronic pain with nerve pain... I'm waiting on my first appt to see Pain Specialist for next steps... After reading on here... my pain is definitely PT .. it's deep in my bottom cheek and very very sore & annoying... I can't sit for more than half an hour - I go to bed to lay flat for relief. Good luck to your husband I hope he gets sorted.

I have been suffering with the similar nerve entrapment & the pain is increasingly relentless. I’ll be having laproscopic surgery in March 2018. It’s severe for the last 4 1/2 years.

Get a good urologist and neurologist referral for MRI nerves and MRI genital area. One is neurography other structural. After 8 years of PN shows I have a small ingenuil hernia and also neuropathy.
