I would like to be informed about lumps in groin. I ask this because of my mother, not me. She had this abdominal pain for several weeks so she went to a doctor. They examined her and after few tests concluded that she has inguinal hernia. She was told that there could be some complications in the shape of lumps in groin.

You are absolutely right. Hernias, both types of them (femoral and inguinal) can have lumps in groin as consequences/side effect. Just in case I will tell you what other causes can exist. Enlarged lymph glands, local and viral infections, STD (sexually transmitted diseases), physical injuries in that area, malignancy etc. I assume that she will have an operation for her hernia, so lumps should not emerge at all.
