I am a 24 year old female. I lost my virginity 4 days ago to my boyfriend. It was the first day of my period. We have since had intercourse a further 5 times. I've had a little pain when urinating but only what I expected due to friction etc. I read in a magazine that with any new partner, you should go for a medical check-up. We used condoms but I am not currently on any sort of birth-control. I have never had a smear test or any sort of examinations in that area. I would appreciate any advice you could give me. Thankyou

hmm well if you used condoms then you should be fine and protected. it's mainly up to you if you wanna see a DR and get a smear test..you know, just to be safe. That way you won't worry at all. Good luck

At your age, you should have begun having yearly gyno visits. A pap test is a good idea once a year and is included with your yearly check. If there is a history of "stuff" in your family, it's more important more than ever. Loosing your virginity does not necessarily call for a check up unless you feel something may not be right. He used a condom so your probably ok there.
The pain you feel upon urination is probably due to the friction or you may be having a reaction to the condom themselves.
Now is the time to see your gyno and not because you lost your virginity but because you are now sexually active. Now is also a good time to check into some birth control.
