My symptoms (along with rosacea skin problems) were the same as yours over two years ago. I had a colonoscopy and everything looked normal. I quit dairy and wheat started experimenting with probiotics (kambucha, Kefir and fermented foods like sour kraut and kimchi) The symptoms have not returned

All the problems with discharge coming from your anus, is usually a sign of one thing, your body is lacking fiber. I bet if you bring more fiber in your diet, your symptoms will disappear. I will give you less then two days and you will be clear.

If you have a rectal prolapse from constipation how do you stop the yellowy mucous discharge? Saw colorectal surgeon who sid the prolapse wasn't bad enough for surgery and go to pelvic PT to tighten sphincter. So far no help and doing kegel exercises. Being female, I now havew same color discharge from the vagina so hoping I do not have an infection. Afraid to go to GYN as what if you are being examined and you have been leaking on the way to the doc visit. Wouldn't want it pushed up there when doing a culture. Not sure what to do.

I've got this problem too, the anal mucus secretions, due to rectal prolapse giving birth. The prolapsed intestine pushes out of me about 1/4 inch and secretes lots of brownish mucus, staining my underwear, and causing many bladder infections for many years of my life.

I finally got a referral to a good Gastroenterologist practicing in Santa Rosa, CA who had the answer to keeping the mucus secretions from getting all over the place, and giving me many horrible bladder infections which required antibiotics, In turn the antibiotics caused more intestinal distress and anal leakage, causing even more bladder infections.

This doctor told me to buy largest size "100% pure cotton balls" that are sold for cosmetics and baby wipes. (The brand I found is "Day Logic" at Rite Aid pharmacy, "super jumbo" size). To put these in place he told me to get into a squatting position, and hold one of these cotton balls between my butt cheeks, up against my anus, but NOT into my anus. He told me to "imagine that I am using my butt muscles to pick the cotton ball up off the floor," and hold it.

These big cotton balls are soft and very absorbent. They stay in place quite well, in combination with underwear, even during some physical activity, and do not abrade my anal tissues like the toilet paper did.

Previously I had tried many methods to absorb anal secretions, using wads of toilet paper, etc. These methods all failed. The cotton balls really work. So far no more bladder infections, or stained underwear! The only drawback so far is that you should not flush these down the toilet if you have your own septic system. These will not break down in your septic tank the way toilet paper does. Things will clog up and will cause a lot of headache and expense.

But of course I am still hoping to find a real cure to the rectal prolapse. But until i do at least I can control the bladder infections,

Have had. mucus and bleeding with severe burning for 2 months. Had been to doctor several times and ER twice with no diagnosis. Happened to have colonoscopy (prior to this was on opiod pain relievers which barely helped the pain). Colonoscopy showed stage 4 internal hemerrhoids. Dr prescribed anucort suppositories twice daily which cleared up the pain and most of the mucus. Have been on this for one week and it is a miracle! Hope this info can help someone else.

I have hemorrhoids from pressing against my as****e with toilet paper to help me sh*t, but it seems to extend my craps to 25 minutes. Have been spitting out loads of brown mucus from my as****e after my long sh**s. Been doing this ever since I was 9 and I am 14. If I stop now, would it slowly go away over time? Literally a giant pink internal hemorrhoid has been lounging in my ass for 3 years. Did I mention that I'm a guy? Please help lol

I agree with your analysis. I too have struggled with a mucus like discharge but it is transient and lasts usually only a few days. I believe it occurs if I indulge in surgery treats. This lead me to believe the sugar stimulates growth in the intestine like candida. This results in feeling wet in the rectum area which in turn causes itchiness in the anus which can lead to hemorrhoids. Basically being wet and slimy you end up with a chapped butt area. Not pleasant. For me I get off the sugar eat a low carb diet fish or meat veggies no bread or sugar whatsoever and with 3-5 days I see improvement. After that it’s a balancing act if I dare eat something sugary. Natural fruit like berries or apples and oranges do not cause any issue. Good luck and thanks for posting on here.

Yup. I had rectal surgery for a fissure and a year later I’m dealing with the same issue. I think these rectal surgeries impaire muscle function causing leakage. Doctors will never admit this but prior to surgery I never had this problem.

I personally did a full elimination diet. I suffered from this exact thing for approximately 6 years. It started a few weeks after a round of antibiotics for pneumonia that went hand in hand with some heavy drinking. About two weeks ago I was prescribed a medication called fluconazole. I did a ton of research and came to the hopeless conclusion it was a yeast imbalance causing inflammation and mucus. I bought high end probiotics (florajen) and Metamucil (1heaping tsp 3x day) and took the fungal medicine. Days 1 and 2 was filled with about 8 rancid BM’s and…. That was the end of it (2 weeks symptom free which is the longest it’s been) I’ve removed all processed foods, added sugar, fructose containing fruits and gluten. The fructose gives me a stomach ache from hell, so I’m wondering if I’m fructose intolerant. Drastic times call for drastic measures. I hope my story helps you.
