Having my sling removed I am not emptying my bladder, constant back pain and recent UTI's. The urologist wanted me to start emptying my bladder with a catheter, I insisted it was the mesh.
Pain during sex, partner complained of burning after intercourse, issues sleeping, constant pain in lower back, yeast, bacterial infections, body aches, the list is endless.
I pray my bladder will heal itself once this foreign object is removed .

Most doctors will not recognize or admit if/when problems are from mesh.  Most doctors can NOT remove mesh even if they know it's the mesh. Mesh is meant to be permanent.  They may say it's not possible, or too dangerous...  and maybe, for them, that is true.  However, there are a few doctors that can remove mesh, and they are worth seeking out if at all possible.  I traveled all the way from NY to CA to get my mesh sling out.  Not easy, but it was the best thing I ever did. If you are suffering, please try to get to one of the few doctors that can actually help with mesh complications.

I had a urethra sling 9 weeks ago & im on my 5th uti. I no sooner go off the antibiotics & I have another uti. My urologist has me using an estrogen cream every other day to help prevent infections. I'm 67 so my estrogen levels are low, hence estrogen cream. I wear "diapers" as I rarely make it to the bathroom. I self cath 3-5 times a day to release urine retained in my bladder. Urine has very strong odor that wasn't present before surgery. Urologist has said we will wait one more month as it sometimes takes 12 weeks for healing to be complete & if I'm still having the same issues, he will snip the middle of the sling as he may have made it too tight. I have no quality of life as I'm afraid to leave the house as many times I urinate through the diaper. Had I known what I would be going through,post surgery, I would have dealt with pre surgery problems of leaking & urgency.

I had the bladder sling surgery about 7 years ago and had bladder infections once in a while but as of like 2 years ago I have had repeating infections and also kidney infections. Just wanted to let you know about some of the antibiotics that they give you, they are called fluoroquinolone, do not take them only as a last resort because they can damage your tendones, muscles and you will have joint damage. DO NOT take them. I have severe joint pain and I think it's from all the cipro and the z pack I took. I really am tired of having uti and bladder infections. Needed to see if I was the only one getting this but I see that I'm not.

Hey there, I had this tape done 5 years ago, from about 6 weeks my problems started first with my bowel then with my utis it's been a long 5 years finally I've been refired back to gynae but as you say they cover other, might actually chat to a solicitor and see how it goes

Yes I never had infections but after Tvt have had countless infections. It is 5 years ago now and still get then.

This operation is banned in Scotland.
I have white cells, protein and blood
But when results come back uti.
Iam at my wit's end. Discharged from urology, discharged from pain clinic.
Bloody left to get on with it.
