About 10 days ago I have protected vaginal sex with a lady (I am male), at no time during our sex session did her genitals or for that matter any part of her body come in contact with my anus! However 3 days ago my anus became very red and also have itching / Burning session as well.

Now, I have been to the doctor yesterday and she has put me on antiviral tablets for herpes, here is where I am confused...My understanding of Herpes and how it is spread, is through skin to skin contact with an infected part of someone's genitals (Also includes transmission during viral shedding when no blisters are present) and is not transmitted via fluids (Vaginal, Blood etc)...

So does it sound like this could be genital herpes and has anyone else had the same experience?

I should have the swab test and first blood test results back on Friday...But the whole "how the hell" question is doing my head in ?
