Approx. two- three weeks ago i started having irritation and itching right above my clitoris. I assumed this was just a random case of feminine itch so I began using a cream to treat this. It never helped but alleviated the itch for a while. I also get brazillian waxes and have for the past 6 months. I started doing this because I get razor burn pretty bad. ANYHOW, i shaved right befor a lake trip over Labor day weekend and i thought maybe this was causing the itching ( the hair growing back in ). Now i have a sore, red bump right above my clitoris that still itches but I can NOT scratch or rub it because it is EXTREMELY sore. It also seems to have split or busted open because it burns terribly when i touch it. There has never been a head on it or puss, what is this???????????????? I am going to try to make an appointment with my Gyno tomorrow. Do you think this could be an STD????????

It sounds to me like it is an ingrown hair. Especially since no head has presented itself. They do tend to be itchy and sore if a infection sets in under the skin. It will go away on its own. That could take up to another week or I've also seen it take up to two months. (Depending on how deep the infection is under the skin) If you want immediate relief you will have to alleviate the pressure. Some people don't feel comfortable doing it themselves so they tend to just let the body take care of it. I hope this helps you!! (Oh if it were an STD there would be more then just one sore by now and way more symptoms!)
