Well, my boyfriend and I have been sexually active with eachother for over 2 years. He too has had that ring on and off. I constantly check myself for STD's so that was easy to throw out the window as a possible cause. My first thought had always been, "maybe my yeast infections causing a reaction on him". I do recall asking a doctor about it but his response was "why would you want to have sex during a yeast infection?" That doctor, in my opinion was nuts? Its hard to control your hormones around the person you love being with =) and the doctor proceeded to say that it could possibly irritate him but just use the same cream that women use (ex. Vagisil). That was a couple of years ago when I asked and it was floating around my head as a reason but never really sank in till' I was reading these replies, someone mentioned something about a yeast infection, so yes, I think so too! I will happily go home today from work and tell my boyfriend to throw some Vagisil on =)

This is caused when you masterbait or have sex.
When you pull on your penis the skin comes up and hits the ring causing it to
turn red. The cure is to stop masterbaiting. You will notice the

I have the same problem. I believe that if we are all uncircumcized and have the same problem than the solution is to get snipped. It is not my first option, but like you guys I have done everything to fix it and I am at my wits end. As a FYI, put sea salt in a cup of warm water than pull your foreskin back and place it in the cup for a little while or draw a warm bath and place the sea salt in there.

"I can't imagine that redness of that duration means much of anything. I advise you not to rub or irritate it in any way so as not to cause confusion and to see a dermatologist. That way you'll probably be able to forget about it."
This was said by a dermatologist on another MD help website. I understand that it's a business and you can't give your advice away for free, but at least say that. Do not tell a man not to rub his penis. Sex is too good to deny. Plus if you don't touch it than there won't be any visible redness that you are complaining about to show the doctor, so when you see the doctor he will tell you nothing is wrong. Does that make any sense? Anybody?

Guys I have had the same symptoms for nearly a year now and have got numerous tests and everything came back with the all clear. I was told by one doctor it could just be inflammation from an erection from your skin stretching. It is nothing to worry about!!!

Hey guys im also suffering with the same problem and im so scared that i keep on browsing the sites and think that its phimosis i dont know wether it really is or not i ve been taking medicines for more than month and applying creams (my dermatalogist gave me a cream PHE something written on it what i feel is thats a hyperpigmentation cream )..... but one thing i really wanna share with you is that the first day when i got this redness was ( well this is what i feel ) i didnt remove my condom for a very long time and sperm was inside the condom . the brand was DUREX . i have never had sex with more than 1 girl in my life . and that to be always with a condom . what i think is that it a specific chemical used on condoms which reacts with the foreskin . but now there is no point crying over spilled milk . lets just find out a way to cure this problem. help me .

Get an anti-fungal thrush cream and use twice a day for a week-ten days. Here's the next hard part...if it's a yeast infection, which it sounds like, you must cut out coffee, white bread, flour and beer and especially any candy for those ten days also.
Obviously, it goes without saying that you cannot masturbate or have sex for ten days either.
Finally, no oral sex, giving or getting, as this will pass the infection back and forth also.

hey thats normal. because you are uncircumcised your glans and frenulum are very sensitive and not used to intense rubbing, tugging, therefore after you masturbate or have sex it tends to get a little bit irritated. thas completely normal the only way to prevent that would be to use lots and lots of lubrication while having sex and for masturbating just use your foreskin. by that i mean dont touch your glans, simply move your foreskin back and forth and that wont happen. try to not masturbate every single day.

some questions to all of you having this problem: how did the skin inflammation (red ring) start after having had sex? perhaps with some smaller and larger red spots on the foreskin? how many days later? did you use a condom while having sex? and/or did you have cunnilingus?

Hi there this is what i was told and the conclusion well i had sex for the first time and the girl was very aggreasive. She pulled my foreskin back to far and it was a lil painful. After a couple days i got the red ring around my foreskin and at certain times it actually is a lilttle irritating when i take a piss all my test came back negative but the doctor told me what happen. what happen was my foreskin was stretch around my penis to far down and cause major stretching to the point that their was also a red line going down the the tip for about half an inch where she strerch it. This can only he seen when i pull it back far enough. It only comes back when i strecth it when i masterbate so i am going to stop masterbating for a month and comeback with the results.

I have the same problem. When I pull my foreskin down it is red. I've tried gesterone cream. It worked okay, but it didn't go away. I had some lube touching my foreskin for a day or two, I thought i washed it all off, but I don't think I did. It's been a month and a half or so.
Wondering about the guy that stopped masturbating, did it work? I got tested for STDS and I had an infection KO. but I took meds and its gone, but the redness is still there. annoying. I'm guessing it's an irritation, but how to get rid of it.
