I am 48, male. I‘ve been diagnosed with restrictive cardiomyophaty. I don’t know much about the disease and I am afraid of the heart attack.
What can you tell me about restrictive cardiomyophaty? What are the common causes?
I would appreciate any information.

Hello. Restrictive cardiomyophaty is a disorder of a heart, in which are heart chambers unable to fill the blood properly because of stiffness of the heart. In this case of cardiomyophaty, heart is normal size or little bit enlarged, but it can relax normally during diastole. This abnormal heat function affects other body systems .Common causes include: hemochromatosis, radiation fibrosis, various tumor infiltrations of the heart, rarely by diseases of endocardium. I hope things are clearer now for you. Take care.
