I've been smoking weed everyday for 10 years and quit 16 days ago. I mainly smoked from glass pieces since I quit cigs over a year ago. The first night was awful, I couldn't sleep and felt nauseous and clammy- I spat up part of my meal that night. The next 48 hours I couldn't eat anything and lost 6 pounds in 3 days. The second night was horrible, I had a headache, the chills and was sweating like crazy. It felt like a fever and I couldn't sleep, feeling very delirious & high still. After 72 hours I finally ate & averaged to 1 meal a day. On day 5, my mouth was swollen and I got ulcers on my tongue, making it painful to eat. The swelling and ulcers went away around day 8- I found it strange because I didn't get that when I quit cigs, prob because I was still smoking weed. Around day 8 my glands started to swell and feel scratchy for a few days. I also had mild ear pain and headaches that went away with Tylenol or Advil. That went away until day 15, and only the left side on my throat hurts. Now at 2 weeks, I'm averaging 1-2 meals a day and gained 2 pounds back. I started to get crazy dreams around night 5 and they are very vivid. If I drink alcohol before bed, I don't get the crazy dreams which is kind of nice. I'm also just starting to get mild coughs. I never lost my voice.

I smoked for 6 years around 0.5g per day and at 22yo i stopped smoking and my only symptoms were a few day of black depression that slowly improves and in a month it`s gone. nothing physical, maybe because i`m young or maybe because the symptoms described before are related to smokers in general and i still smoke cigarettes

I used to dream all of the time before I started smoking. Once I started smoking more than a few times a day, I was lucky to have a dream once a month. Today it's been one month since I've last smoked after two years. My dreams started coming back two weeks, a week and a half ago. The coughing is normal and unfortunately, the body will take time to heal. I have a very annoying dry cough right now and it doesn't matter what medication I take- my body has to get used to producing the correct amount of mucus in my throat again before my sore throat and cough goes away. The same I beleive will happen to you. Don't smoke again. It's tempted me, but it will make the past month a waste and your knowingly hurting your body more.

Just some advice on how to help MJ detox issues. I've smoked heavily for many years knowing it was causing lung problems and anxiety when i would end up with a high sativa strain. I've quit several times with the same symptoms each time: crazy night sweats, freezing cold but sweating, sleep disturbances, no appetite...the usual stuff. Well this time 2 days in i was more miserable than ever. I did more research and came across some advice. #1. Detox bath: about 1cup Epson salt, 1/2 cup baking soda, 10 drops lavender oil. #2. Take high quality activated charcoal before bed. I did these on day 4 and they were game changers. I had no sweating, chills, etc. Minor sleep disturbances. Virtually nothing. I've done the bath about every 3 days and charcoal nightly. I'm on day 8 with minimal withdrawal issues. I'm sure i have more to go as i haven't started dreaming again yet and those come crashing back in a crazy way. Or maybe that won't happen this time, another week or so should tell!

I've been smoking for 9 years straight i was a heavy drinker for a year and a half then insloweed down but still drank a couple drink a night I too had / pleghm sore throat, coughing a lot at certain times throughout the day especially while I smoked I've slow down on smoking I'll skip a day or two but I still have pleghm I went to dr and got prescribed some antibiotics it only worked for my sore throat. I still have a cough and plemhg on a daily basis it is frusturating I stopped drinking if I do have a drink it is 1 or 2 only twice a month and that has helped me a lot with the phlegm so my advice to you people struggling with the same issue DO NOT SMOKE cigarettes at all, STOP smoking weed try making edibles instead, DO NOT DRINK alcohol ! And you should see changes in a month it takes time

I was a heavy smoker for about 10 years and recently quit. For the last month I have been crazy vivid dreams, about 6 of which I can remember per night. No headaches or nausea. But I feel like my allergies have gotten worse. I have tree nut allergies and I have had 2 reactions in the past month to things I have not reacted to while smoking. Is it known that marijuana reduces the effects of allergies? There is no research that I have found, only my empirical evidence.

I've been smoking weed (no ciggs) but blunts sometimes, since I was about 14 years old, I am now almost 21. I stopped smoking a few days ago and noticed I have this weird cough but I'm not sick.... I can't sleep at night and I get really hot usually only at night. I woke up this morning and went to talk and had to clear my throat before I could say anything almost like I lost my voice. I've been noticing these word symptoms ever since I stopped smoking and hope it's just my lungs trying to clean themselves. Hope this post helps anybody out wondering

Hey guys, I'm sitting here reading through all of these posts because I can't sleep at all right now. I've been really itchy and I was wondering if it had anything to do with stopping. I smoke at least 6 joints a day and I've been smoking everyday for the last two years. I take occasional breaks but only cause I'm out and it's for just two or three days. But for some reason I had this feeling like maybe I should quit. My anger gets out of control but that is also the reason why I smoke so much. But at the same time I know that the more I smoke the worse it will get. I've noticed that I've been staying in my room a lot and becoming anti social. I truly believe that I am losing my mind. I see all the warning signs but I am so used to being high that it's just weird not being high. But it's no longer happy laughing high. It's just smoking to feel normal. I know I need to quit but I also know that I'm gonna go get a sack this weekend. I feel trapped. I stopped cigarettes and alcohol but I can't let go of the herb. I'm in love with Mary Jane and she might be the death of me.

I've been a heavy daily smoker (4-6 times a day) for 16 years and I'm having all the same symptoms as everyone else, which are the same as cigarette uses have. 1 month ago I cut back from 4 times a day to just one late at night and the symptoms started right away. Then 8 days ago I stopped completely and as expected, the symptoms got worse. Here are my symptoms: sore throat, dehydration, headaches, overwhelming fatigue, difficulty concentrating, feeling depressed, sad, and down, irritability, restlessness, teeth clinking, messed up sleep patterns, DREAMS!!!; sensitivity to smells. Irregular eating habits (as I don't feel like eating, which makes me feel worse but when I do eat I feel better so I'm attempting to eat regularly). Despite all the side effects it's nice not to have stoner brain fog and I actually want to do more social things now. I've been considering quitting for at least a year now so I have done my fair share of research before hand but never pulled the trigger until now. And I have to admit after just 8 days of being clean I feel I really robbed myself of my life. I hope my words have been helpful to my fellow weed quitters, stay strong I truly believe it's worth it.

I am a 10 year smoker who ended up in the hospital with a swollen larnix they was pressing off my airway. It was something that slowly happened and I didn't realize until I was and therefore I kept smoking to help clear the mucous not realizing my airway was closing off. I Headed to the hospital. I am currently on prednisone abuterall, claritin, Flonase and ibuprofen. I have been quit for only
4 days. I recovered to a point after stopping the smoke, and beginning the medicine but it seems I am getting no better from there. In fact, this morning was a small setback and I was a couple hours clearing my nose and throat so that I could tolerate being conscious without constantly being aware of my throat. I hope that soon I will at least get relief from the constant choking feeling. I loved weed and considered it with high regard. I did bad in high school, but as an adult I began smoking and went on to earn my BA in computer science. I took the weed along and was a great help, but it seems I have developed an alegery and must let her go. I hope the damage isn't perm. And I can get back to breathing without thinking of every breath I take.
