I would like to know if Rickettsia is contagious. Last time ewe were at country side my boyfriend had a tick which infected him with Rickettsia, parasitic microbe. I was wonder is it possible to spread Rickettsia from one person to another.

Parasitic microbes usually spread by insect bites, so Rickettsia is contagious from insect bite, lice, fleas and tics. I don’t think that is possible for Rickettsia to be spread from one person to another. There are few species: Rickettsia felis, Rickettsia prowazekii, Rickettsia rickettsii, Rickettsia typhi, Rickettsia conorii etc.
