about 5 months (Nov) ago i was taken in to hospital with a right-sided tingling in my hand, arm, leg and foot - especially my hand, knee and foot, which within a day of being in hospital spread into my face. they did an MRI scan and it was clear, and it disappeared within 3weeks. The 2 months later it returned and lasted a further 3 weeks and 5 weeks ago (End of March) it returned for a 3rd time and this time has left me with permanent tingling down my right side which hasn't left me and sometimes worsens (such as walking down the corridor and my knee suddenly become sincredibly tingly causing me to limp)...It is all random....as I have not been able to connect to anything for example, increased levels of stress. It is often accompanied by a constant headache that rarely leaves and nausea and sometimes tiredness. It's gradually wearing and wearing me down and I've lost a stone in the the past 5 months. I'm only 17, and I'm now underweight. The doctor doesn't know what it is and seems reluctant to investigate! Through prolonging my wait....the condition is worsening and i'm getting really fed up. Like I said, I'm only 17... and I have exams soon....were I need a hand which won't suddenly stop working! :S

I was having the same problem actually. I wonder what it could be? Let me know if you're doctors come up with something. I started having right-sided head, nose-bridge, neck, shoulder, sub-scapular, hip, and foot pains 2 years ago. I ended up in the hospital because the pain was making me feel dizzy and the neck pain made my neck kinda stiff (and there was a meningitis scare at the time in my college). They did a CT scan, and couldn't come up with anything. The doc kinda threw up his hands, said sinus infection, gave me antibiotics, and sent me home. When I finally got some insurance I went to see a doc, got referred to an orthopaedic specialist, and got an x-ray of my head and neck... nothing. They essentially told me it was a tension headache. Did I mention I wake up in the morning with it more often than not?
The only thing I can think of is that I had a car accident a year prior, and another bike accident a few months prior. I was thinking maybe one of my vertebrae were misaligned or something from the accidents, but my CT and x-ray came up "normal." I've also noticed since I got on depo-provera (the birth control shot) that it has gotten worse (how odd) to the point that it's almost every day. It feels like my doctors don't believe me when I tell them about it! I get kinda concerned about taking so many painkillers on a fairly constant basis, what with increased risk for stomach ulcers... but no one seems to be able to tell me what's wrong. And apparently my insurance doesn't cover imaging costs (how annoying) so my fruitless investigations wind up hitting me in the pocketbook. I wish I knew what to do, but in the meantime, two tylenol or advil two times a day just to function.
On a similar note, I stopped depo about a week ago, and my headache and body pains have only increased, and now its constant. The painkillers don't work too well now either.
I wish I knew what was going on! I'll ask my doc when I go in for my well-woman on Tuesday.
