I suffer from severe bone and body aches several times a week. They are often so painfull that I can't get out of bed or off the couch. OTC pain meds and many prescribed pain meds don't help. I'm very addicted to my heating pad, but know its an emotional thing and it doesn't really help either.

I was diagnosed and treated for thyroid cancer 3 years ago but am wondering if this is not a reaccurance. My doctor say's its not and that there are no other indicators that it has returned. I'm not so sure, you see I wasn't supposed to have cancer to begin with.... I was told that if you have hoshimoto's that you can't get cancer (or that its highly unlikely) but I did.

What are some of the things I should be asking for when I visit the doctor again? I need to be smart about this as I think he might be writing me of as crazy, I know my husband already has.

Help please!

i know your article is over a year old. I feel for you. i have been in such pain, weight gain and other things in the hormone family have gone wrong. i use to be a skinny young women, with low to normal BP. And doctors do write us off as crazy, because of this extreme intense pain. i also get daily migraines, next extremely strong drugs to help ease some of the pain and wish we could, as women find doctors who suffer the same pain and thyroid  problems. i to don't get out of bed, sometimes for weeks from the pain. i use Icy Hot pads and roll on like there is no tomorrow, i go through bottles of extra strength rapid release tylenol like crazy and extra strength aspirin, along with narcotics and they barely ease the pain. this makes us depressed, unable to get out and live life. i wish i had the answer for you, but just wanted you to know, you are not the only woman going through this. there are so many women suffering in silence as the medical society looks at us like we are hypochondriacs. i know you are not. one thing you might do. ask your doctor to check you vitamin D levels and your calcium levels. i know my Vitamin D was almost non existant and i read today that my calcium should be checked. they never do these tests. also, eat green leafy vegetables. they were really helping, but i stopped suddenly 3 weeks ago and my elbow and knees hurt so bad like someone took a bag of rocks and hit me with them. i hope this somehow helps a little and just sharing with someone else i think is good to do. good luck and if you find out better ways to relieve pain, keep me posted.
