I would like to become a serious athlete. I know that serious training is not the same as what amateurs do. The problem is that I don’t know how to train seriously. It seems that everyone has its training secrets they are not willing to share. How can I get them share their training secrets with me?

Don’t worry. You can join some club. They have certified coaches and people who are willing to share their “secrets” with you. There aren’t “magical mystery secrets” that would turn you into a world-class athlete in a week or so. This is just lore. 99% of the success is hard work, training, dedication and persistence. So called “secrets” are just icing on the cake.

There's no specific secret to becoming a serious runner. The best advice I reckon anyone could give you is to spend a good 6months to a year building up your aerobic capacity which would eventually allow you to gain a fair amount out of specific and varied training at a later date.

I have no problem sharing my secrets, or what I have learned on the trail.
Here is a post that I just wrote about tip to a 50 mile training program:
You can contact me on any topic and I am more than happy to share what I know.

The best advice I can give is to practice goal race pace training. I went from a 2.43 marathon to 2.19 because I practiced running at or above goal race pace.
The goal is to get your body to clear lactic acid faster than it is building up. You will improve drastically if you do this but the hard part is, of course, running hard for longer periods of time.
If you have a goal to hold 7 minute pace for a marathon. Jogging everyday at 9 minute pace will not get you closer to your goal..challenge the body's systems and it will respond and overcompensate
