Hi, went to the doctor about a month ago and was told i had a cyst on my uretha that was about the size of a golf ball that i needed to have removed .They sent me on to a uro/gyno specialest .......He seemed to act like it was no big deal and he also said it was just a blocked skenes gland and that it was my choice if i wanted it removed. Im feeling kinda weird about all of this i know i have a pressure feeling when i have a bowel movement and it does bulge out. is it really no big deal?

i was wondering if you can see your gland from the outside becuase my doctor told me that was what I had, and I can see it from the outside, its strange because it occured with all three of my pregnancies, and now I go to the doctor on monday to talk about my options.

Yes, I removed my cyst and it wasn't a big deal! Right after 2 days I went home, and in 10 days I could do everything as usual.

Momofthree, do you mean your doc told you about blocked skenes gland or about the cyst? And yes my was gland was also visible from outside, but it turned back to normal condition just few days after op and using additionaly some meds my doctor prescribed me.

I was just reading up on Skenes gland and i had come across your conversation about this. I had the same problem, or still have. I had my skenes gland coming out of my urethra..i guess that means it filled up with fluid. Just about a little over a month ago i had it removed with a simple in and out surgery. However, when i had my check up about a month later. He tells me i have another one...but its not big deal? Did anyone else here of having 2? I'm pretty sure the skenes gland go with the male gland but in females it goes away when your a baby. My problem is that i don't know if the doctore knew i had 2 and didn't tell me or he found it during surgery and didn't tell me. So did anyone else have 2?

I have just recently been diagnosed with this as well and am prepared to have surgery. Mine is also visible from the outside. My Dr. said it could re-occur. He said that he wouldn't even recommend removing it if it didn't bother me because chances are it will come back. However it does bother me during intercourse with my husband and emotionally just knowing it's there is weird so I am opting to take my chances with surgery.

Hi, I'm searching on this topic because I'm having a flare-up of the Skene's gland. This has happened to me twice before. The first time it lasted for a month. I visited the urologist and considered surgery, but then it burst on its own without any problem. It leaked fluid out and then stopped bothering me. The doctor examined me and said it was OK. The second time was a year later. It swelled up suddenly and burst within a week. Now it is swollen on the right side and is quite uncomfortable. It started bothering me a few days ago. I am wondering if I should go back to the urologist and get a surgery. Were there any unpleasant consequences of the surgery for those of you who had it?

From my reading, the sken's glands in women are equivalent to the prostate gland in men. If you google ssrch amd find pictures, there are two glands right by the urethra.. So having more than one cyst is possoble.

I recently had a baby and over the period of three days had a catheter reinserted several times while i was hospitalized six weeks later I noticed the large oval shaped marble size growth about 1-2cm big protruding just below my urethra. When i urinate my urine seems to be misdirected by the presence of this newly found growth/mass. My obgyn said its a parauretheral cyst and I will have to have surery to remove this growth but he can only schedule me for surgery one month from now ..Do you think i should wait one month before removing this growth can it continue to growth and block my urethra ...I which i can post pictures of it cause i can't seem to find any medical pictures of this growth/mass ......My obgyn says its no big deal and don't see any urgency in removing it quickly....I really need to know can this cause complications if so what are they....pls direct me to any live pictures of a urethral cyst.
