I have been having the gagging sensation now for about 5 days... I don't think I've ever had this before. Like most of you, I too am a major hypochondriac with social anxiety although I do not have the fear of vomiting... I actually throw up anywhere from 1-6 times in a month. I have ulcers and acid reflux. I am hoping that is what's caused this. I also think it's important to mention that I have recently (self diagnosed) discovered that I am majorly low in Iron! I've felt light headed most days for about the last year now, and always attributed it to allergies. However my husband went away for a week and I basically lived off of bread and sandwiches... and I drank a little bit of alcohol too. I threw up a few times because the alcohol makes my ulcers feel terrible, then the next day my throat had this lump in it. I was also incredibly pale, I almost fainted because it freaked me out so bad! Of course I looked up that symptom and it looks like the most likely cause is lack of iron. Which makes perfect sense because I already had very low iron in my regular diet (although I do eat healthy, whole foods, I eat very little meat at all and nothing really containing iron). So when my husband went away and I stopped eating meat altogether, plus I also got my period for a second time in the month... I think my body is just reacting to the lack of iron and perhaps it's having an effect on my immune system... not as capable of fighting off my GERD symptoms. I don't know. My husband is so sick of me talking about all my stupid ailments, but I would really just like to get to the bottom of them so that I no longer have to talk about it. My Hypochondria started after I was bit by a black widow spider and the symptoms made me feel like I was honestly dying, took me weeks to figure it out. Anyways life has been very anxious since then and these little things make it so much worse! Good luck everyone.
