Hi Everyone, this is scary, and i know for a fact it is allergy, acid reflux, and palpitations, like a lump is in the throat when you swallow, feels swollen. Also anxiety does cause it to close more because we are afraid when it happens, but no you all are not crazy, this is a real medical, issue. I have woken up a few times and gasped for air, my family member too, and daughter once or twice. Also if it is too hot in the bedroom, it can happen, crack a window for some nice cool air, it helps a lot. Or if you are worried about something it can happen because of this. See a doctor by all means, but it gets better, and watch what you are eating at night and morning, milk, cheese, ice cream, milk chocolate, all dairy, can cause the sensation, sometimes and make like a phlem, in the throat, so avoid this at night. God Bless you all, feel better. You are not alone. Take the reflux medicine never stop it unless your doctor says too, it really helps this so you won't gag and feel like refluxing, or having a hard time swallowing, due too the tightness. Drink water, cranberry juice no orannge juice makes acid, and a little Ginger Ale helps, or a hard candy in the mouth, but not ucolyptus kind. Above all sip the water at all times it opens the throat, and hydrates you. Good Luck Everyone, hope this helps. GIGI
