My brother in law was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. This shocked me and made me rethink! Perhaps I should be doing self examinations! So I went ahead and checked my prostate, and to my absolute horror I did notice a small lump on my prostate! Does this mean I have cancer, or did I just look in the wrong place?

Prostate cancer does have symptoms other than a lump on the prostate. if you have had any difficulty in urinating, or have had blood in your urine, you should be very concerned. Your doctor can do a digital examination of your prostate, kidneys and spinal chord and blood test can also be used to diagnose prostate cancer. I do think, as we age, every man should have these tests done every once in a while.
