I had oral sex with my boyfriend for the first time a few days ago, and two days later I noticed my throat was sore. When I looked with a flashlight at the back of my throat, I saw many (8-12) little slightly yellow blister-like things. It hurts to swallow, and it feels like my throat is very dry. The only relief I have been able to get is while drinking water, and eating Vicks throat drops.
I'm not sure if it is connected to the oral sex, or if it just coincidence, since I was feeling slightly run down before all this started anyways.
I have also had sleep problems since these blisters popped up, and today my temperature was slightly higher than usual.
Can someone please help me to figure out what this is? I'd prefer not to go to the doctor's until it is absolutely necessary, because if this does turn out to be something, I'd prefer my parents to not have to know.. Not yet at least.

For the sake of your health, I think you should see a doctor. The possibility that you have contracted a STD is high.

I went to the doctor's today, and he said that the blisters were viral, and temporary (they are nearly gone now), but unfortunately, it turned into really bad tonsillitis. At least now I know that I don't have an STD (thank goodness!) Thanks for the responses, :]

I've had a sore throat for about 3 days. I now have yellow blisters in my throat and I'm finding it difficult to swallow. What could it be and do I need to go to the doctor?
